Western astronomer Dr. Paul Wiegert is part of a team of fellow Canadian astronomers who have discovered Earth's first Trojan asteroid.

Fellow team member, and the principal author, Dr. Martin Connors is a former Londoner who graduated from the astronomy program at Western.

The third team member is Dr. Christian Veillet, who is presently the executive director of the Canada France Hawaii Telescope.
